## Embed Scoreboards Anywhere with Permalink URLs Permalink widgets are static, shareable URLs that display your tournament scoreboard or bracket on any website, forum, or social media platform. Unlike OBS widgets that are designed for stream overlays, permalink widgets are designed for web embedding and include their own styled backgrounds and responsive layouts.

### What Are Permalink Widgets? Every widget you create on Spaghetti Showdown has a **permalink URL** — a permanent, publicly accessible link that displays the widget with its own background and styling. These URLs never change, even if you update the widget design, making them reliable for long-term embedding. Permalink widgets differ from OBS widgets in several ways: - **They include a background** — OBS widgets have transparent backgrounds, but permalink widgets render with a styled container - **They are responsive** — Permalink widgets adapt to different screen sizes, from mobile phones to desktop monitors - **They are interactive** — Viewers can click on player names, view match details, and navigate bracket links - **They work standalone** — No streaming software needed, just a web browser ### Getting Your Permalink URL Navigate to your **Tournament Dashboard**, open the **Widgets** tab, and click on the widget you want to share. You will see a **Permalink URL** section with a copy button. Click it to copy the full URL to your clipboard. ### Embedding in Websites You can embed a permalink widget in any website that supports iframes. Use an iframe tag with your permalink URL as the source, setting the width to 100% and adjusting the height based on the widget type. Scoreboards typically work well at 150-200 pixels height, while brackets may need 600 pixels or more depending on the number of participants.

### Use Cases Permalink widgets are versatile and can be used in many contexts: - **Community websites** — Embed a live bracket on your community homepage during tournament day - **Discord servers** — Share the permalink URL directly in a channel for members to follow along - **Social media** — Post the link on Twitter, Facebook, or Reddit so fans can check scores in real time - **Blog posts** — Include a live bracket in your tournament recap article - **Sponsor pages** — Show live tournament data on sponsor-facing pages to demonstrate engagement ### Real-Time Updates Just like OBS widgets, permalink widgets update in real time. When you change scores or advance matches from the scoreboard controls page, every viewer looking at the permalink sees the update within milliseconds. There is no need to refresh the page — the WebSocket connection keeps everything in sync automatically. ### Sharing Best Practices - **Share the permalink before the tournament starts** so viewers can bookmark it - **Include the permalink in your stream description** for viewers who want a closer look at the bracket - **Use URL shorteners** if the full permalink is too long for social media posts - **Test the permalink on mobile** to make sure it displays correctly on smaller screens Permalink widgets extend the reach of your tournament beyond just your stream viewers, letting anyone follow along from anywhere.
