Generate Stunning Top 8 Graphics
One of the most popular features on Spaghetti Showdown is the Top 8 image generator, also known as the Top8er. After a tournament concludes, you can create a professional-looking graphic showing the top 8 placements, complete with player avatars, character selections, and custom branding.
Accessing the Top8er
Once a tournament is finalized, navigate to the tournament standings page. You will see a Generate Top 8 Image button. Clicking it opens the Top8er tool, which pre-populates with the top 8 finishers from your bracket.

Customization Options
The Top8er provides extensive customization to match your community's branding:
- Background - Choose from preset backgrounds, upload a custom image, or use a solid color. Many communities use their event series banner as the background for consistent branding.
- Layout - Select how the player cards are arranged. Options include the classic pyramid layout, a grid layout, and a horizontal bar layout.
- Player Cards - Each player card shows the placement, player tag, and optionally their character. You can manually adjust character selections if the data was not captured during the tournament.
- Colors and Fonts - Customize accent colors, text colors, and font choices to match your brand. The color picker supports hex values for precise matching.
- Logo and Branding - Add your community logo, sponsor logos, or event series branding to the image. Logos can be positioned and resized freely.
Character Selection
For supported games, the Top8er includes a character selection panel. Click on any player card to choose their main character from the game's roster. Character renders are pulled from the Spaghetti Showdown asset library. If a player used multiple characters, select the one most representative of their tournament run.

Exporting Your Image
When you are satisfied with the design, click Export. The image is generated server-side at high resolution (1920x1080 by default) and downloaded to your device as a PNG file. The exported image is ready to share on social media platforms like Twitter/X, Instagram, and Discord without any additional editing.
Saving Templates
If you run recurring events and want consistent branding, you can save your Top8er configuration as a template. Next time you generate a Top 8 image, load your saved template and only the player data will change while the design remains consistent. This is a huge time-saver for communities running weekly or monthly series.
Tips for Great Top 8 Images
Use high-contrast text colors against your background so player names are legible even on mobile devices. Keep logos at a reasonable size so they do not overpower the player cards. If you are posting to Twitter/X, the 16:9 aspect ratio (default) displays best in the timeline. Tag your players when sharing to boost engagement and give them recognition for their results.
